2880-65 — Mercedes-Benz Center Support Bearing, 4.900" Bolt PatternThe 2880-65 uses a 4.900" center-to-center mounting hole spacing — 0.050" less than the 4.950" dimension used by the 2880-75. On Mercedes platforms, this 1.27 mm difference in bolt pattern reflects a design change between model years or model series. Ordering the wrong bolt-pattern unit results in an approximately 0.6 mm offset per bolt hole — enough to cause the bracket to seat with a twist, pre-loading the rubber isolator before the propshaft is even connected.When servicing a Mercedes-Benz center support bearing with a fixed-hole bracket design, always measure both mounting holes on the crossmember. Corrosion can elongate hole edges, making measurements unreliable; clean the hole edges with a rat-tail file before measuring.
