The 2880-43 is an extremely low-profile Mercedes center bearing at 0.375" center-to-base -- the mounting base is only 9.5 mm from the bearing centerline. This dimension appears on Mercedes compact car platforms (A-Class, CLA, B-Class) where the propshaft tunnel offers minimal vertical clearance between the propshaft and the crossmember.
One engineering challenge at this height: after torquing the bracket fasteners, the available wrench swing is severely limited by the bearing housing above. Use a 1/4-inch drive torque wrench with a universal joint to reach the fasteners without contacting the bearing outer ring. Overtorquing by using a breaker bar with no torque feedback will crush the thin bracket flange at this height. Mercedes OEM references for compact car propshaft center bearings are in the A 169 and A 245 series depending on model; confirm via STAR ETK by VIN.
