- 2880-42 and 2880-43 share 1.181" bore and 0.375" height -- bracket geometry differentiates them for specific Mercedes applications
- Identify via the Mercedes OEM part number stamped on the removed bracket
- 0.375" height requires low-profile torque wrench access -- use 1/4" drive with a universal joint
- Mercedes OEM part numbers in the A 169 and A 245 series for compact platforms; confirm via VIN
Warning: at 0.375" center-to-base height, any bracket distortion from shipping or handling will prevent the assembly from seating correctly on the crossmember. Inspect the bracket faces for flatness before installation. A bracket that rocks on the crossmember face cannot be corrected by tightening the fasteners -- it will fatigue the rubber bond within 10,000 miles.
