Splines get most of the attention in driveshaft torque transfer discussions, but keyway connections remain the correct design choice in a number of applications — particularly in PTO shafts, pump drives, and industrial equipment where the shaft-to-hub connection needs to be simple, serviceable, and positively driven without the precision grinding required for a splined fit. A keyway only works as intended when the key dimensions are correct for the groove — too loose and it fretts and shears, too tight and installation becomes destructive. We stock keyway components in the standard dimensions used across common driveshaft and power transmission applications, so the connection you’re building is going to hold.
