Snap rings might be the smallest structural component in a U-joint assembly, but they’re the last line of defense against a bearing cap ejecting under load. A snap ring that’s even slightly undersized for the groove — or one that’s been over-spread during installation and lost its spring tension — can walk out of the groove during operation, allowing the bearing cap to migrate until the joint comes apart entirely. The same attention to detail applies to thrust washers, which control end play and protect mating faces from direct metal contact. We stock snap rings and washers in the sizes used across the major U-joint series, with the dimensional consistency and material hardness that these small but critical components require.
