SR4142 Snap Rings -- Set of 4 for U-Joint Retention
A common mistake during U-joint installation is reusing old snap rings. Snap rings fatigue and deform with each installation cycle -- a ring that has been removed and reinstalled may not seat fully in its groove, allowing the U-joint cap to move axially under load. The SR4142 provides a fresh set of 4 rings for a complete U-joint installation.

Install snap rings so the gap is not positioned at the top or bottom of the bore -- rotate the gap to the 3 or 9 o'clock position. This prevents the ring from being loaded in the gap direction when the driveshaft weight bears down on the U-joint. Verify the ring is fully seated in the groove by pressing with a screwdriver before reassembly.
