Full Description
The 2715-876 at 0.106-inch thickness is a precision shim used to set U-joint bearing cup endplay. The 2715 series covers multiple thicknesses -- technicians select the appropriate thickness to achieve the specified endplay range (typically 0.001 to 0.004 inch for most series). Installing a shim that is 0.010 inch too thick causes excessive preload on the needle bearings; 0.010 inch too thin allows the cross to rock, wearing the bearing cup bores.
