2880-59 -- Mercedes-Benz Center Support Bearing, 30 mm Bore, 0.965"
The 2880-59 uses a 0.965" center-to-base height -- an application-specific Mercedes dimension that does not round to 1.000". This precision reflects the tight dimensional tolerances Mercedes applies to propshaft center bearing specifications across different model series and production years.
When a Mercedes shows a 0.965" measurement on the removed bearing, ordering a 1.000" unit will result in a 0.9 mm height excess that positions the bearing above the propshaft centerline -- enough to introduce a measurable driveline angle and associated vibration. The 2880-59 is the correct unit at this specific height.
