Center Support Bearing

The center support bearing — also called the carrier bearing — is what makes a two-piece driveshaft viable. It supports the midship shaft at a fixed point relative to the vehicle chassis, isolating the driveshaft’s rotational forces from the body and frame while allowing the shaft to spin freely. A worn or misaligned center support bearing introduces vibration that’s often felt as a resonance at a specific vehicle speed, and it places the midship U-joints at incorrect operating angles that accelerate wear throughout the assembly. Our center support bearings are assembled with quality sealed bearings inside proper rubber isolator mounts, designed to maintain their centering and vibration-damping properties over the long term — not just for the first few thousand miles.
