2580-85 -- Audi Propshaft Center Support Bearing
The 8.937" mount hole span on the 2580-85 is the widest in the Audi 2580-series group, indicating a long-wheelbase or wagon Audi platform with a wide tunnel crossmember. An unusual spec here: the mount span is not a round number (8.937"), which is typical of Audi's precision-machined floor structure -- do not round it to 9.000" when measuring the replacement bracket.
The 2.800" center-to-base places this unit in the mid-height range for Audi CSBs. Upgrade advice: if you are rebuilding the center section of a high-mileage Audi propshaft, inspect the stub shaft OD (nominal 1.181" / 30mm) for fretting wear where the old bearing inner race ran. If the shaft is worn undersize by more than 0.001", the new bearing will micro-walk on the shaft under torque and fail prematurely.
