- 0.675" height -- compact Mercedes bracket between the 0.500" and 0.750" variants
- Measure the removed bearing precisely -- 0.675" is equidistant between 0.625" (2780-54) and 0.750"; digital calipers are required
- 30 mm bore: confirm the stub shaft journal OD is within Mercedes tolerance before pressing
- Mercedes OEM references depend on model series and year -- confirm via STAR ETK by VIN
Warning: the 0.675" height is unique to specific Mercedes applications. There is no standard domestic or generic import bearing at this height that can substitute. If the parts supplier offers a generic 0.750" unit as a substitute, decline -- the 0.075" (1.9 mm) height difference changes the propshaft angle enough to produce a detectable vibration on the NVH-sensitive Mercedes platform.
