- 2.213" center-to-base -- a Mercedes-specific dimension between 2.188" (2880-27) and 2.250" (2880-57); measure the removed bearing with digital calipers
- The 0.025" difference from 2.188" and 0.037" difference from 2.250" both require micrometer-level measurement accuracy to distinguish
- 30 mm bore: verify stub shaft OD before installation
- Mercedes OEM references in the A 211 and A 210 series depending on model; confirm via VIN
Tip: for Mercedes center bearings with closely-clustered height values (2.188", 2.213", 2.250"), use a digital caliper with 0.001" resolution to measure the removed bearing. Set calipers to zero before measuring to eliminate offset error. Measure between the bracket mounting face and the bearing centerline (not the top of the housing), and take three readings at different angular positions to account for any parallelism error in the removed bracket.
