3103-283 – Transmission Yokes – 1310 Series – 27/28 X 1.220 Splines – 1.500″ Hub Dia

When a Ford C4 has been swapped to a different tunnel length or the original driveshaft was cut for a body or suspension modification, the longer 3103-283 provides 6.500" of center-to-end travel versus the standard 6.000" on the 3103-284. This extra half-inch of slip allows the driveshaft tube to maintain proper engagement under suspension droop without bottoming the transmission yoke on the tailshaft seal.

• 27/28-spline x 1.220" PD -- standard Ford C4 specification; not interchangeable with C6 (28-spline x 1.375" PD)
• 1.500" hub diameter -- matches stock C4 tailshaft seal bore; verify seal condition before reuse
• No counterbore -- flat face seats against seal housing
• 6.500" C-to-end -- 0.500" longer than 3103-284; confirm driveshaft tube length will accommodate the extra stroke

Tip: if you are unsure which C4 yoke length you need, measure the distance from the yoke U-joint centerline to the tail of the transmission with the driveshaft at ride height. That figure, combined with the rear axle pinion CL-to-flange measurement, gives you your required driveshaft tube length to within 0.050".
