1203-241 -- 1251 Transmission Yoke for Subaru and Nissan
The 1203-241 occupies the 1251-22 series and is designed to replace the original-equipment staked U-joint on Subaru and Nissan rear-drive and AWD applications. Subaru's longitudinal-shaft AWD drivetrain and certain Nissan compact platforms used a non-serviceable staked joint that required either specialized staking tools or assembly replacement at failure. This yoke converts the assembly to a serviceable snap-ring design, enabling field U-joint replacement at the 1251-series cap diameter.
The 1.100" counterbore is larger than the 1203-24S (1.000") and slightly smaller than the 1203-24 (1.038") -- the 0.062" difference from the 1203-24 bore means the two are not interchangeable on the same application without a custom sleeve. Identify which counterbore your output shaft retainer requires before ordering. The 1.375" hub OD is the small-hub standard for this spline class. Hub-to-seal matching is mandatory -- a 0.120" hub diameter mismatch in either direction causes immediate oil loss. This transmission yoke requires no modification after installation; the staked assembly is discarded in its entirety.
