- 23/24-spline profile allows this yoke to fit both 23-spline and 24-spline 1480-series outputs -- verify full tooth engagement before torquing the retaining hardware
- C/U-joint to end of 6.810" is nearly identical to the 16-spline version (3-3-1601KX at 6.812") -- both provide the same slip travel; the spline count is the selection criterion
- 1480 series U-joint cap: 1.375" diameter -- do not install a 1350 (1.188") cap into this yoke's ear bores even though the series letters look similar
- Apply EP grease to the spline bore before installation -- dry engagement causes immediate fretting and spline wear

When the driveshaft is removed for service, inspect the spline bore inside the yoke for wear ridges. A worn spline bore that has developed a step at the engagement limit will tear the spline tips off the mating shaft on reinstallation.
