The 3103-281 addresses applications where the output shaft uses the 28-spline, 1.220" PD standard but the tailshaft is dimensionally longer than the common C4 configuration. At 7.375" center-to-end, this transmission yoke provides 1.375" more slip travel than the 3103-284, accommodating longer transmission tunnels or modified suspension geometries that require additional driveshaft plunge range. The absence of a counterbore means this yoke relies entirely on the spline interface and tailshaft seal for centering -- any wear on the output shaft spline roots should be addressed before installing a replacement yoke, as the splines provide the only radial constraint at the transmission end of the driveshaft.
