3103-272 -- High-Angle 1310 Transfer Case Yoke for Jeep Wrangler

The 3103-272 is engineered for Jeep Wranglers operating at elevated driveshaft working angles -- typically any vehicle with a 2"+ lift where the rear driveshaft exceeds the standard 1310 U-joint's recommended continuous operating angle of approximately 8 degrees. The high-angle designation indicates the yoke ears are phased and profiled to clear the tube and maintain smooth articulation at angles up to 12--14 degrees without generating the second-order vibration that appears when a standard yoke is pushed past its design range.

This transmission yoke crosses directly to Spicer 2-3-12411X and fits the same 26/27-spline, 1.176" PD NP231 output shaft interface as the standard 3103-273. At 5.750" center-to-end, the dimension is identical to the standard variant. The practical difference is the ear geometry -- if your Jeep runs at stock height, the standard 3103-273 or 3103-275 will serve. If you have installed a lift kit, the 3103-272 is the correct specification to prevent vibration onset between 45 and 65 mph.
