3103-243M Transmission Yoke 1310 ser’ Outside Snap ring Mitsubishi 23/24 Splines

Retention Detail: The 3103-243M uses an outside (external) snap ring to retain the yoke on the output shaft -- the snap ring seats in a groove on the shaft OD after the yoke is pushed fully on. Do NOT confuse this with an internal (bore) snap ring design. Installing an inside-retention yoke on an outside-retention shaft will leave the yoke unsecured, causing it to walk off the splines and separate from the transmission.

Mitsubishi's rear-wheel-drive transmissions used a unique 23/24-spline output shaft at a 1.082" pitch diameter -- a specification found on several Mitsubishi models and badge-engineered Chrysler products (Eagle, Plymouth, Dodge imports). The 1.678" hub diameter is larger than the common 1.500" domestic standard, so the tailshaft seal must be sourced to match. This transmission yoke is designed at 5.250" center-to-end and is the shorter of the two common Mitsubishi 1310 variants; see 3103-243 for the 6.000" version. Verify which snap-ring style your specific Mitsubishi transmission uses before ordering -- a small number of late-production units switched to an internal-retention bore.
