- The 1.455" counterbore pilots against the transmission output bearing retainer -- this is a centering feature and must not be omitted; use 2903-301 (no counterbore) only on applications that do not require piloting
- Fits Chrysler 727, TorqueFlite A518, 46RH, 46RE, and 47RE transmissions -- the same yoke geometry spans the entire Chrysler RH/RE family
- Retain the output shaft nut to transmission specification -- Chrysler specifies a specific torque for the yoke retaining nut; under-torque is a common cause of premature spline wear on this family
When upgrading from a 7260 yoke to this 7290 fitment, check that the driveshaft tube yoke or weld yoke at the differential end is also 7290 rated -- mixing series across a single shaft creates a weak-link failure point.
