The "S" suffix on 2603-26S designates a Mitsubishi-specific fitment that differs from the base 2603-26 in C/U-joint to end length (5.900" vs 6.875"). Using the wrong length yoke changes the driveshaft operating angle and may prevent full spline engagement in the transmission output bore. The 25/26-spline x 1.156" interface is a Mitsubishi import specification -- do not substitute a domestic 26-spline yoke with a different pitch diameter without measuring the existing shaft first. No counterbore is used on this application; the hub bore provides the sole centering interface. Pair with the correct Mitsubishi-series U-joint when replacing the driveshaft assembly.
