Full Description
The 0.975" difference in C/U-joint to end between 2603-26 (6.875") and 2603-26S (5.900") is enough to change the driveshaft compressed length by the same margin -- installing the wrong yoke variant will either prevent full spline engagement or put the driveshaft at risk of bottoming out during suspension jounce.
- DET numbers 2852323 and 904 are Dana OEM cross-references for sourcing matching replacement U-joints or verifying against OEM parts catalogs
- Series: 7260 -- U-joint cap size unique to 7260, not interchangeable with 7290 or Spicer 1310 cap ears
- Splines: 25/26 x 1.156" pitch diameter -- measure the transmission output before ordering
- Hub diameter: 1.559" -- must seat cleanly against the transmission output seal; any scoring on the hub sealing surface will cause an immediate fluid leak after installation
- No counterbore -- centering is accomplished through spline fit alone
Before installation, inspect the transmission output shaft for radial play. Excessive play in the output bearing will allow the yoke to oscillate and produce a low-frequency vibration that becomes worse under load. Replace output bearings if radial play exceeds 0.005".
