The 0.959" spline pitch diameter is among the smallest found on any rear-wheel-drive application in this product range -- this yoke is sized for compact Mazda transmissions, and the fine spline pitch requires careful torque application during installation. Over-tightening the retaining nut stretches the spline flanks and can cause the yoke to seize on the output shaft, making future removal very difficult.
The 7260 series U-joint cap dimensions must be verified against the trunnion bore in this yoke before assembly. The 20/22-spline count allows some cross-fitment flexibility, but the hub OD of 1.375" and counterbore of 1.050" are specific to this Mazda application. Substituting a yoke with a different counterbore diameter will result in off-center running and vibration. Always replace the output seal when servicing the transmission yoke to prevent fluid contamination of the driveshaft U-joint.
