The 2-3-3738 is a 1310 series slip yoke with a 1.375-inch spline and 16 splines, engineered for smooth axial movement under load without binding or excessive backlash. The slip yoke is not a glamorous part, but it is load-critical. Every pound-foot of engine torque passes through it on its way to the wheels. A worn, cracked, or dimensionally incorrect slip yoke introduces vibration, unbalances the shaft, and accelerates wear on adjacent components including the u-joint cross, differential seal, and output shaft bearing. The 2-3-3738 replaces like-for-like with current production tolerances.
