Full Description
The 1453-860 is the thin-wall variant in the 1453-86X series, using 2.000" OD x 0.065" wall tube with a 1.875" butt. The thinner 0.065" wall results in a larger inner bore (1.870" vs 1.834" for 0.083" wall) and correspondingly larger butt diameter (1.875" vs 1.844"). The 0.031" butt difference confirms these are matched to different tube specifications and cannot be substituted.
Thin-wall (0.065") tubes are appropriate where weight reduction is prioritized and shaft torque loading is within the capacity of the thinner tube. At 2.000" OD x 0.065" wall, torsional strength is adequate for light-duty rear-wheel-drive applications common in compact sedans and sports cars.

If you are rebuilding a driveshaft from a compact RWD or small sports car platform and the original tube appears thin-walled, this is the likely correct part. Verify by measuring: 0.065" wall will read 0.060-0.068" on a micrometer, and the butt will be a snug fit in a bore of approximately 1.870". For the heavier 0.083" wall version, order 1453-861.
