1453-261 UDS Splined Midship Tube Shaft
The 1453-261 is a splined midship tube shaft manufactured by UDS. In a two-piece driveshaft assembly, the midship shaft occupies the center section: one end carries the splined bore that accepts a slip yoke, and the other end connects to a U-joint. The shaft is welded into a driveshaft tube.
The spline specification is 26 X 1.129 — the slip yoke that slides onto this shaft must have an identical spline count and diameter. The shaft is designed to fit inside a 2.000 x 0.095" tube with a butt diameter of 1.812 inches at the weld joint. The end-to-weld dimension is 3.227 inches. The 1.181-inch bearing journal accepts the center support bearing — verify the bearing inner bore matches this diameter. Note: USED ON MERKUR SHAFTS, USED WITH: 1404-261.
