Center Support Bearing Selection

The 1.574" bearing journal diameter is the critical dimension for matching a center support bearing (CSB). Select a bearing with a bore ID that matches within tolerance -- typically H7/k6 for a press fit. An incorrect bore size will either score the journal on installation (bore too small) or allow the bearing to spin on the shaft in service (bore too large). Measure the journal with a micrometer before ordering the bearing.

Spline Interface: 23/24 X 1.562"

This stub shaft uses a 23/24 X 1.562" spline profile with 3.000" of engagement. The mating slip yoke or companion yoke must have a matching spline count and diameter. Verify the companion yoke spline spec before assembly. Grease the splines with NLGI 2 EP grease to prevent fretting corrosion.
