5503-318 -- 1550 Series Slip Yoke for 68RFE, Chrysler/Dodge/GM, 30/31-Spline
The 68RFE is Chrysler's 6-speed automatic used behind the 6.7L Cummins diesel in Ram 2500/3500 trucks, and its output shaft runs 30 or 31 splines at 1.610-inch diameter. The 5503-318 is the 1550 series slip yoke for this transmission in 2WD configurations. OEM reference number: 40189967. The 1550 series is appropriate here -- the diesel torque capacity of the Cummins/68RFE combination exceeds what a 1350 yoke is rated for under sustained load.
Spline bore: 30/31 splines x 1.610" diameter. Centerline-to-end: 9.750". Hub diameter: 2.201". The 9.750" CJ-to-end is a long yoke for extended telescoping range -- important on lifted trucks where driveshaft angles and lengths change significantly from stock.
