A thin-wall tube (0.065") at 3.500" OD is more susceptible to cross-section distortion from impact than thicker-wall alternatives. Any dent visible from below the vehicle in the mid-span of the tube alters the balance and potentially the torsional stiffness of the shaft. Even a 0.015" inward dent at midspan can move the center of mass enough to produce a detectable vibration above 3,500 RPM. Inspect the tube visually before and after any off-road excursion if the vehicle uses this specification. Replace rather than re-balance a dented shaft.
