1226-201 UDS 1251 Weld Tube Yoke
The 1226-201 is a 1251 series steel weld tube yoke manufactured by UDS. In a driveshaft assembly, this yoke is welded to a cut driveshaft tube — the weld end seats against or inside the tube, and the yoke ears accept a 1251 series U-joint that connects to the mating yoke at the transmission, transfer case, or differential.
The tube specification is 2.000x0.065 — the yoke bore is machined for a 2.000-inch OD tube with 0.065-inch wall. Substituting a tube with the correct OD but a different wall thickness will produce an incorrect fit at the weld joint. The butt diameter of 1.875 inches is the outer dimension of the yoke at the weld face and determines how the yoke nests inside or butts against the tube end during assembly. The center-U-joint-to-weld dimension is 1.750" inches, measured from the U-joint centerline to the weld face; this value is used when calculating the finished overall driveshaft length after welding. Fitment & Installation Notes
Before welding the 1226-201, confirm the tube is 2.000x0.065 — both OD and wall thickness must match the yoke specification. The 1251 series is designed for the specified application range. A 1251 U-joint is required in the yoke ears; do not install a different-series joint. Clean and deburr the tube end before fitting the yoke to ensure a concentric weld bead — off-center welds create vibration and driveshaft imbalance.
