The SPL90/100 series occupies an important position in the drivetrain strength ladder -- positioned above the 1480 and 1550 series and below the SPL170 series, it handles medium-heavy commercial and vocational loads. The 100-28-17 fits a 4.000" tube at 0.095" wall, a specification common on Class 4-6 commercial and heavier pickup applications where the larger tube diameter provides the critical speed rating while the 0.095" wall keeps weight reasonable.
