Series Selector -- 1350 vs. 1410 at 3.500x0.083 Tube: Both 3-28-427 (1350) and 3-28-557 (1410) fit the same 3.500"x0.083" tube with a 3.344" butt, but the 1350 yoke has a 1.840" CL-to-weld versus 2.125" on the 1410. The CL difference adds 0.285" to the assembled shaft length when using the 1410 yoke. Additionally, the 1410 ear bore (1.188" cap) is larger than the 1350 ear bore -- the series is not determined by tube spec but by the joint spec. Choose 1350 for standard light-truck applications; upgrade to 1410 for sustained high-angle or elevated-torque service.
The 3-28-427 is the standard 1350-series weld yoke for 3.500"x0.083" tube -- one of the most common specifications in light and medium pickup truck drivetrains. The 3.344" butt diameter and 1.840" CL-to-weld are the defining standard for 1350-series components at this tube wall. Spicer 5-213X is the OEM cross-reference for the 1350 U-joint used with this yoke. Balance specification for a 3.500" tube 1350-series shaft is 0.10 oz-in residual maximum; verify post-weld with a dynamic balancer before installation on any vehicle where vibration isolation (rubber mounts, CV joints) is limited or absent.
