Small-Diameter Application: The 2726-150 is one of the smallest weld yokes in the 1751 series. A 1.500" tube is appropriate only for very short, lightly loaded driveshafts -- the critical speed of a 1.500"x0.083" tube drops below 3,000 RPM at spans exceeding 36 inches. Verify the shaft RPM and span before specifying this tube -- if the calculated critical speed is less than 25% above maximum operating speed, use a larger-diameter tube or a two-piece shaft design.

The 2726-150 addresses niche applications where a very small driveshaft tube is required -- transfer case-to-front axle shafts on compact vehicles, PTO shafts, or auxiliary drive shafts on light industrial equipment. The 1.340" butt diameter and 2.187" CL-to-weld are specific to this 1751-series application. The 1751 series U-joint is intermediate in size between the 1310 and 1350, providing better angular capacity than the 1310 while fitting in compact package spaces. This weld yoke requires an experienced welding technique -- at 1.500" tube diameter, heat management is critical and burn-through from excessive heat input is a real risk even with experienced MIG welders.
