- 7260 series U-joint required; 1.125" cap OD but Chrysler-spec body geometry -- do not substitute 7290
- 3.000" x 0.083" tube -- thicker wall than the 2626-30 (0.065") variant; same CL-to-weld of 1.625"
- 2.844" butt diameter is the standard for 3.000"x0.083" tube across 7260 and 7290 series
- 1.625" CL-to-weld is 0.187" shorter than the GM 7290 equivalent (2926-30 at 1.812") -- not interchangeable
- Steel construction; matches OEM Chrysler/Mopar specification for this tube class
If rebuilding a Chrysler 3.000" tube driveshaft and the original weld yoke is severely corroded, measure the original CL-to-weld before disposal. A measurement near 1.625" confirms the 7260-series Chrysler specification. If the measurement is closer to 1.812", the shaft may have been previously rebuilt with a GM 7290 yoke -- a common workshop improvisation that works dimensionally but puts the wrong joint series at risk. This weld yoke is the correct OEM-geometry replacement for Chrysler 3.000" tube 7260 applications.
