The 2-3-5821KX slip yoke engages the transmission output shaft and allows the driveshaft to change effective length as the suspension cycles. It's a spline-specific part for 1310 series applications — the spline count and shaft diameter both have to match your transmission tailshaft exactly. Wrong spline count means it won't engage; wrong series means the u-joint won't fit the ears.
