The 1426-203U weld yoke is machined for the 1100 series driveshaft and designed to be welded directly onto a driveshaft tube for a permanent, high-strength connection. Used in both OEM and custom driveshaft fabrication.

Weld Yoke Applications

Weld yokes attach to the driveshaft tube by welding rather than a threaded or slip connection. This makes them ideal for fixed-length driveshaft sections where slip is not required -- typically the rear section between a center support bearing and differential flange, or in solid-axle custom builds. The 1426-203U provides 1100 series U-joint bores machined to precise tolerances for correct snap ring groove depth.

Welding Requirements

Proper weld preparation is critical for a balanced, durable weld yoke installation. The tube end must be cut square, deburred, and cleaned. The yoke pilot must fit the tube I.D. with minimal clearance for self-centering before tack welding. After tack welding at four equally spaced points, perform a full circumferential weld using a MIG or TIG process rated for medium-carbon steel. Dynamic balance after welding is strongly recommended.

Installation Notes

• Ensure tube I.D. matches yoke pilot diameter for correct fitment
• Clean tube end and yoke pilot to bare metal before welding
• Tack at 90-degree intervals before final weld to minimize distortion
• Allow full cool-down before dynamic balancing
• Inspect weld for porosity or undercut; grind smooth if necessary
