Combination joints are built with different retention, cap diameter or width at each end, so a single cross can couple two yokes that would otherwise be incompatible. They are the usual answer when a transmission and a shaft come from different series.
Order a combination joint by both ends. Give us the cap diameter and width at each end and the retention style each yoke uses, and we will confirm the cross before it ships.
A combination or conversion joint is asymmetric on purpose. One trunnion pair is machined for one yoke and the opposite pair for another, letting you connect, for example, a 1310 transmission yoke to a 1330 shaft without changing either component.
Because both ends differ, part number matching matters more here than anywhere else in the catalog. Two combination joints with the same nominal series can be entirely different parts depending on which pair of dimensions each end carries.
