2926-30 -- 7290 Weld Yoke for 3.000x0.083 Tube
The 2926-30 and 2926-31 are dimensional siblings -- same series, same CL-to-weld (1.812"), same nominal tube OD (3.000") -- but different wall thicknesses (0.083" vs. 0.065") and correspondingly different butt diameters (2.844" vs. 2.875"). The 0.031" butt diameter difference is easy to overlook when ordering, but the consequence is a loose or non-seating pilot at assembly. Verify your tube wall with a micrometer or ultrasonic gauge before ordering if the wall stamp on the existing tube is illegible.
The thicker 0.083" wall on the 2926-30 application provides higher column strength and better resistance to dent damage from road debris compared to the 0.065" version. This makes the 2926-30 appropriate for vehicles that operate off-road or in environments where the driveshaft is exposed to impact loading. The 7290 U-joint at 1.125" cap diameter carries the torque at both ends; see our series listing for the correct 7290 U-joint complement. Balance specifications for 3.000" tube 7290 assemblies are 0.10 oz-in residual maximum.
