The 2926-27 covers the smallest tube diameter in the 7290 series at 2.750". This combination -- 2.750" tube with 7290 U-joint capacity -- appears on lighter GM trucks and some transfer case-to-differential shafts where a large-cap joint is required for angular or torque reasons but the tube diameter can be kept relatively small for packaging. The 2.625" butt diameter and 1.750" CL-to-weld represent the standard compact geometry for this configuration. Note that 2.750" tube at 0.065" wall has a relatively modest wall-section modulus -- appropriate for normal production power levels but marginal for performance applications with substantially higher torque. Consider stepping up to 0.083" wall if the vehicle has been modified beyond OEM torque levels. This weld yoke requires the standard 7290 joint at 1.125" cap; no other series is compatible at this yoke ear bore size.
