The 3526-506A is the mid-CL aluminum 1350-series variant in the 5.000" tube family -- 0.125" longer than the 3526-51A (2.875" CL) and 1.109" shorter than the 3526-501A (4.110" CL for the 0.063" thin-wall variant). Use the 3.000" CL variant when the required total shaft length calculation calls for a slightly shorter tube cut than the 2.875" CL variant would produce. The relationship is: total shaft = CL-to-weld (front yoke) + tube length + CL-to-weld (rear yoke); select the CL dimension that, combined with available tube stock, produces the exact required shaft length without trimming.

Aluminum welding note: at 5.000" tube diameter, maintaining concentricity during tacking requires careful fixturing. A freely hanging 5.000" tube will sag under its own weight at spans over 30", causing the yoke butt to drift from center during tack welding. Fixture the tube horizontal with tailstock support and use opposing tack positions (12 and 6 o'clock, then 3 and 9 o'clock) before making the final bead to maintain roundness. This weld yoke is appropriate for all performance street and motorsport 1350-series driveshaft applications at 5.000" tube.
