The 9980-48 center support bearing supports the midshaft section of a two-piece driveshaft, keeping it running concentric with the vehicle's drivetrain axis. When this bearing fails, the midshaft droops and the driveshaft angles change — you'll feel it as a vibration that gets progressively worse at highway speed. The 9980-48 center support bearing specs: 1.181" inner dia | 750" center-to-base | 6.625" mount spacing. CB mounts at an offset . one bracket sits below .75" and the opposite side mounts even. Application: Subaru series. Inner diameter must match the midshaft stub OD exactly — a loose fit allows the bearing to walk on the shaft, which causes vibration and accelerates wear on both the bearing race and the shaft surface.
