- 0.500" center-to-base height is exceptionally compact -- this is one of the lowest-profile center bearing assemblies in the BMW application range
- Used where the propshaft tunnel positions the crossmember nearly flush with the propshaft centerline
- Bore ID 1.378" (35 mm) -- verify stub shaft OD with a micrometer before ordering
- Do not substitute a 1.325" or 1.625" height unit -- even a 0.125" error changes the propshaft operating angle measurably on BMW platforms
Warning: the 0.500" height means the mounting flange is very close to the bearing outer race. When torquing the bracket fasteners, use a torque wrench with a thin-wall socket -- standard sockets may contact the bearing outer housing and distort the rubber isolator seat. BMW OEM part numbers in the 26 12 7 500 series may apply; confirm via VIN.
