9980-46 Center Support Bearing - Subaru
The 9980-46 (also referenced as 9980/46) is a center support bearing manufactured by UDS. In a two-piece driveshaft layout, the center support bearing carries the midship stub shaft at the point where the front and rear driveshaft sections meet. The bearing presses into a rubber-isolated housing that bolts to the vehicle frame or crossmember. This bearing is catalogued for Subaru applications.
The bearing inner bore (ID) is 1.181 inches — this must match the outer diameter of the midship stub shaft exactly. Even a small mismatch causes either interference fit problems or excessive play. The centerline-to-base dimension is 750 inches, measured from the bearing centerline to the bottom of the mounting bracket; this determines the working angle of the front driveshaft section.
