Full Description
The 6-4-7181X is a ball-and-pin (BP) style end yoke built for the 1710 series. Unlike snap-ring retention patterns, BP yokes use a ball-and-groove locking mechanism at the U-joint bearing cap interface common on certain North American heavy truck rear axles.
At 46 splines on a 2.390" pitch diameter, this is a large-bore shaft interface. The 46-spline count is used on tandem-drive axles and some heavy highway tractor configurations where pinion shaft size is larger than typical single-reduction axles. Compare this to the more common 35 or 39-spline 1710 applications.
