Full Description
The 1710 series is one of the highest-torque full-size U-joint families in common commercial use, with cap dimensions of 1.378" diameter x 1.813" length. The 6-4-7631-1X is a half-round (HR) style end yoke for 1710 applications, used where a differential pinion flange carries the yoke on a splined shaft.
Why the HR style matters: HR yokes use a snap-ring groove at the bearing cap rather than bolted strap retention. This design is standard on many heavy truck rear axle applications where maintenance access favors snap-ring removal over bolt service. If your application uses strap-style retention, you need a different yoke pattern.
