3126-31A -- 1310-Series Aluminum Weld Yoke, 3.000" x 0.083" Tube

The 3126-31A is the aluminum equivalent of the steel 2-28-437 for 3.000" x 0.083" tube. Choosing aluminum over steel at this tube size saves approximately 1.7 lb on the yoke-plus-tube segment, which is a meaningful reduction in a front driveshaft application where rotating weight affects steering response. The 1310-series interface is adequate for stock and mildly modified vehicles; for builds producing consistent torque above 1,000 ft-lb at the driveshaft, a 1330-series yoke (3326-31A or equivalent) is the more appropriate specification.

Center-to-weld is 2.250" -- longer than the typical steel 1310-series center-to-weld of 1.688". This increases the overall contact length between the yoke and tube during welding, improving concentricity at the joint. Compatible U-joint: Spicer 5-153X 1310-series cross. This weld yoke should be balanced as part of a complete shaft assembly -- the aluminum material makes it slightly more sensitive to imbalance from weld spatter or material removal than steel equivalents.
