The 2626-26 is a 7260-series application for Mazda rear-drive and truck platforms that use a 2.570" tube OD at 0.065" wall -- a Mazda-specific tube diameter that does not correspond to any standard SAE inch-increment tube size. The 2.455" butt diameter is derived from the non-standard tube bore and is unique to Mazda-series components in this family. A common error when rebuilding Mazda driveshafts is substituting the 2.500" tube variant (2625-25 or similar) and assuming the 0.070" diameter difference is negligible. In fact, the 0.070" pilot OD mismatch produces a visible gap between yoke and tube bore that results in a weld with insufficient penetration at the tack points, causing the yoke to walk out of center during final welding and producing unacceptable runout. Use only the Mazda-specific 2.570" variants for these applications. This weld yoke requires the correct 7260-series U-joint for Mazda applications.
