Full Description
The 1310 series remains the most widely used U-joint in domestic light truck and passenger car driveshaft applications. Cap diameter of 1.062" makes it immediately identifiable versus the 1.188" caps of the 1350 and 1410 series. The 2-28-557 fits 3.250" OD tubing, a diameter common on full-size pickup and van one-piece rear driveshafts.
The 0.065" tube wall on a 3.250" OD shaft gives adequate stiffness for moderate-length, low-torque shafts. For applications where the shaft runs near its critical speed limit or where significant torque is transmitted, a 0.083" wall is recommended. The 0.065" wall is acceptable for OEM-style replacement on shafts up to approximately 48" in length at normal highway speeds.
