Full Description
A common engineering trade-off: using a larger-diameter tube with a lower-rated U-joint series. The 2-28-427 pairs a 3.500" OD tube -- which provides excellent torsional rigidity and high critical speed -- with a 1310-series U-joint interface that is rated lower than the 1330 or 1350. In applications where the tube is the primary structural element and peak torque is below the 1310-series limit (approximately 1,200 ft-lb), this is a valid choice. However, if peak torque is a concern, swap to the 3326-427 (1330-series) or 3556-427 (1350-series) equivalent weld yoke at the same tube size.
