Full Description
The SR23824 snap ring set corresponds to the Spicer 23824 specification -- a common U-joint snap ring used across multiple Spicer joint series. The set of 4 covers one complete U-joint, which uses two rings per axis (4 total for the cross). Never use a mix of old and new snap rings in the same U-joint -- different fatigue states create unequal retention forces that allow one cap to migrate axially while the other holds, causing the cross to misalign inside the bores.

If the yoke bore shows snap ring groove wear (groove is widened or has burrs), replace the yoke -- snap rings in a damaged groove will not retain correctly regardless of ring quality. A groove that has been burred or worn wider than specification allows the ring to seat below the groove's retention depth.
