The A48-28-5012 is Neapco's aluminum 1480-series weld yoke in the large 5.000" tube class. The Neapco designation uses the "A" prefix to indicate aluminum and "48" to denote the 1480 series -- a naming convention that simplifies identification in complex multi-brand driveshaft shops. At 3.500" CL-to-weld, this is the longest in the 5.000" aluminum weld yoke family -- 0.750" longer than the UDS 4826-50A (2.875" CL). The additional weld distance provides maximum clearance from the joint journals during MIG welding, reducing the risk of heat affecting the yoke ear bore hardness. Neapco aluminum yokes are machined from 6061-T6 billet and are compatible with aluminum tube at 5.000" OD. Pair with a 1480 U-joint at 1.375" cap diameter; Spicer 5-280X or Neapco equivalent cross-reference.
